Expeditions is the only ferry service between Maui and Lanai. This is a basic service that offers no transportation once you arrive on Lanai. However, Lanai features a trolley system that is compatible with the arrival and departure times of Expeditions. The fare for the trolley is about $10.00 for round trip fare from the Manele Bay to the Lodge at Koele. From Manele Bay Harbor to the Manele Bay Hotel the fare round trip is $5.00.
Once you arrive you can explore the beach (The same beach that Trilogy uses) for a fraction of the cost. Have lunch at the Manele Bay Hotel, or take the trolley into Lanai City. Here you will find a quaint plantation town that is a memory of "Old Hawaii". Laid back and slow. A little further up the road is the Lodge at Keole and the natural beauty of upcountry Lanai. All worth discovering during your adventure to Lanai.
The Manele Bay Hotel and the Lodge at Keole are both ranked in the top 10 hotels in the world. Truly in a league all their own.
The ferry schedule is as follows:
Departing from Lahaina Harbor daily at 6.45am, 9.15am, 12.45pm
Departing from Manele Harbor daily at 2.00pm, 4.30pm, and 6.45pm

Lanai your way! Explore the "Private Island" in a Jeep Wrangler and discover the hidden secrets of Lanai. With this adventure Lanai will be at your finger tips. A detailed map is provided to you and from there you are on your own. We suggest starting with the Munro Trail and take the journey as it unfolds, your way.
Expeditions has added a departure from Maalaea Harbor for south side guests.
Departing from Maalaea Harbor daily at 7.00am with a 5.30pm departure from Manele Harbor.
The Munro Trail:
Cruise the Munro Trail and discover breathtaking views of 6 Islands, deep canyons and the lush vegetation of Lanai. This trail will wind off road through the highlands ending in Koele above Lanai City.
Above Lanai City the Munro Trail picks up again with an off road trek to the Garden of the Gods and Shipwreck Beach. At the Garden of the Gods you can walk among unusual rock formations scattered over a rainbow stained landscape. The Gardens of the Gods offers unique photo opportunities. After you have experienced this beautiful natural wonder of Lanai, its off further down the trail to Shipwreck Beach.
Strolling along the beach you will be amazed at the amount of marine life and colorful reef. Green Sea Turtles and Bottle Nose Dolphin along with hundreds of different species of fish make this thrive in this remote area of Lanai. Just off shore is a 365 foot World War II shipwreck. Be sure to bring a towel and snorkel gear for this adventure into paradise.
Along the journey are numerous petroglyphs and hidden trails to explore.
You can stop and explore the Lodge at Koele or the Manele Bay Hotel and discover why each of these two incredible resorts is ranked in the top ten in the world.
As the day concludes you will know that Old Hawaii does exist and is alive and well on the Island of Lanai.
The Ferry Schedule:
Because this is the only way to reach Lanai besides flying, we suggest the following ferry schedule to maximize your day. In order to explore the entire Island and not be rushed you should schedule the first ferry out in the morning and the last ferry on the return from Manele Bay. This may seem like a long day, and it is, but what a day in paradise.
Please note that there will be an additional charge on Lanai for this event in the amount of $4.00 per day. This is a Hawaii State Road Tax. Like any rent a car, you must refuel the Jeep before returning it.
This event includes free pick up from the Manele Harbor to the Jeep Rental Company for the driver only. All other guests will be charged $10.00 round trip fare. This is per the request of Dollar rent a car. However, if you choose to stay behind admiring the Spinner Dolphins will help with the wait. Dollar rent a car is a 20 minute drive from Manele Harbor.
Please note that reservations should be made within 30 days of your arrival for a conformation. Reservations made outside the 30 days will not be confirmed until 30 days before your arrival.
This event is governed by Homeland Security and first and last names of all passengers are required. If you do not provide this information on the reservation page Expeditions will not accept the reservation.

Hawaii is a golfer haven with champion links through out the Islands. Maui offers several PGA rated courses with the Kapalua golf clubs as the links of choice.
Expeditions has added a departure from Maalaea Harbor for south side guests.
Departing from Maalaea Harbor daily at 7.00am with a 5.30pm departure from Manele Harbor.
Tee time would be about 9.30am.
However, secluded on the Island of Lanai are two world class golf courses designed by two of Golf's legendary competitors. The Challenge at Manele and the Experience at Koele have been two of golf's best kept secrets. Now these two world class courses are emerging as some of the finest golf the world has to offer. Tee up your imagination and test your skill with a visit to Lanai and a magical round of golf.
The Challenge at Manele:
The Challenge at Manele is a par 72 course designed by Jack Nicklaus and is a work of art. The Challenge at Manele sits high above the rolling surf crashing into Hulopo'e Bay. With 3 water holes that feature the Pacific Ocean as a dramatic water hazard, the Challenge at Manele will challenge your skill with precise tee shots along the ocean and over natural gorges and ravines. Every hole offers sweeping vistas of the ocean and neighbor Islands.
The Par 3, 12th "signature hole" plays from a cliff 150 feet above the crashing surf, requiring a demanding 200 yard tee shot across the ocean.
The Challenge is a course you will rightly anticipate, and remember long after your round has ended.
The Experience at Koele:
The Experience at Koele is a par 72 course masterpiece designed by Greg Norman and considered one of the most challenging golf courses in Hawaii. This dramatic mountain course is set against the back drop of forested green hills and steep valley canyons in Lanai's central highlands. The difference between the front nine and the back nine are as stunning as beautiful. The front nine plays through wooded ravines and lush Koa forests with the 8th green being completely surrounded by water. The back nine plays across the high country at an altitude of 2000 feet.
The 17th "signature hole plays from a 250 foot elevated tee to fairway surrounded by lakes and dense forest.
Whatever your score a round at the Experience at Koele will leave you with memories of a lifetime and a desire to return.
Course Attire:
The standard attire for these two outstanding links for both men and ladies are as follows. Collared shirts, slacks (no jeans), shorts (not over 1" above the knee), and golf shoes with plastic spikes are acceptable.
Club Rental:
Both of these legendary links offer club rentals of $50.00 for the day. The offerings include Calloway, Wilson, and other top names.
Plastic spikes can be purchased at both courses for a small fee.
What is included in these packages?
Both events include round trip fare on Expeditions and transportation to the links. A cart is also included.
Guests who are not playing would schedule the Expeditions over to Lanai. Transportation is not provided in this case and a cart rider fee is due and the course. The rider fee per course is $25.00 and the transportation fee is round trip to the Challenge $5.00 and round trip to the Experience $10.00. All non golfer fees are due at the time of service.
Tee Times and Expeditions:
We highly recommend the following schedule for this event. You should depart Lahaina on the 6.45am ferry with a 9.00am (about) tee time. You should schedule the return ferry at 4.30pm. This will allow you to enjoy the day without feeling rushed. Play the courses your way. That's how memories are made!
The second schedule would be the 9.15am departure from Lahaina with an 11.00am (about) tee time. The return ferry would be at 6.45pm.
Please note that reservations should be made within 30 days of your arrival for a conformation. Reservations made outside the 30 days will not be confirmed until 30 days before your arrival.
This event is governed by Homeland Security and first and last names of all golfers is required. If you do not provide this information on the reservation page Expeditions will not accept the reservation.
A valid photo ID is required for this event.
