General Information:
All of these Maui hiking adventures are small groups of no more than 12 guests.
A continental breakfast is provided for all hikes consisting of muffins, fruit and coffee.
Lunch selections are available for the Half day, Hana and Hike / Kayak hikes on the reservation page.
Water and, snacks are included with all hikes.
All gear including hip packs, towels, jackets, are provided by Maui Eco-Adventures.
Sneakers or hiking boots are required for all hikes.
Resort pick-up is included for all West side guests.
South side guests meet at the Maui Ocean Center for the Hana and the Half Day Hike.
The meeting location for the Kahakuloa Village and the Hike / Kayak is in front of Starbucks in the Lahaina Cannery Mall for south side guests.
We will provide you with driving directions for both meeting locations.
No expecting mothers or people who have bad backs, knees or hips on any of the hikes.

This hike is rated moderate. Being able to hike up and down hills on uneven trails in the rainforest is required. Total round trip hike is approximately 5 miles.
Swinging Bridges, lush rainforest and sound of tumbling waterfalls into breathtaking pools clear and cool are what you can expect on this adventure into the hidden valleys of West Maui. Maui Eco-Adventures is the only hiking outfitter to have the permits to take you on this journey into paradise. Located on the rugged North Shore of Maui this hike is considered by many an experience of a lifetime. Your trail winds through dense jungle covered with a canopy of a thousand shades of green. Be enchanted by the gurgle of tropical streams as you meander into terraced taro fields once farmed by the ancient Hawaiians. As you wind your way deeper into the rainforest your guide will share with you the history, the legends of the area.
As the trail winds through the thick forests lush with vegetation your journey ends at a very beautiful unspoiled waterfall with a very inviting pool. Relax, swim and enjoy paradise! The sounds of the jungle surround you with the murmur of falling water and the gentle breeze of the wind rustling through the leaves. Here you will discover some of the special secrets that make Maui so special.

South side guests will meet Maui Eco-Adventures at the south parking lot of the Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea across from the 76 gas station at 8.45am.

This hike is rated as easy to moderate. Total hike round trip is about 1.5 miles over uneven terrain.
One of Maui Eco-Adventures most popular excursions! Kahakuloa Valley boasts one of the most important culturally and historically oriented experiences that you can encounter in Hawaii.
Your journey will take you north around the West Maui Mountains along the "forbidden road" to the remote Kahakuloa Valley. Along the way you will enjoy several scenic vistas and the breathtaking rugged North Shore. Your guide will share with you the history and culture that makes Kahakuloa so special.
This adventure tours a private Hawaiian village allowing the opportunity to live, if only for a short time, the ways of old Hawaii. .Kahakuloa is the home to several families who live and practice ancient Hawaiian customs. Living on an active AhupuaĠa (Hawaiian farming community) still managed by a Konohiki (supervisor of the land), most of these families continue to work and care for this land as their ancestors have for over 1500 years.

Hana Hike:

This hike is rated moderate over uneven trails. This hike is 5 miles round trip.
This is Maui Eco-Adventures signature hike. Nestled deep in the rainforest are lush tropical valleys undisturbed by passage of time. Where ancient Hawaiian kings bathed and pools became sacred. Lost in time some say this is the real Hawaii where soft hues of green blend together for an unforgettable adventure into the hidden secrets of the rainforest.
The trail head begins south of Hana in the pristine Kipahulu Valley where Maui's ultimate waterfalls tumble hundreds of feet into deep pools. This adventure will take you on a 5 mile hike into the rainforest where you will enjoy secret networks of clear pools and cascading waterfalls. Your journey through the rainforest will take you through towering forests of bamboo guiding you to incredible waterfalls hundreds of feet tall. The sights, the sounds of the jungle will leave you at peace and one with nature.
Give us a day, and we will give you the adventure of a lifetime. This adventure is great for the entire family. Please use good judgment when bringing children along. Rule of thumb is no less than 8 years old to be able handle the distance.

A West Maui Adventure:

The Hike:
This hike is rated easy to moderate. Hiking on uneven terrain roughly 2 miles round trip on this adventure.
Maui Eco-Adventures takes you on a journey to the rugged North West Shore of Maui where you experience West Maui's young lava flow on the Nakalele coastline. The trail on this hike takes you along spectacular sea cliffs with breathtaking views of the North Shore of Molokai and the Pacific Ocean. Witness sea water erupting blowholes from subterranean coastal caves; so quiet expect for the breeze and know you have discovered one of the most remote and rugged secrets of Maui. As you gaze down the cliffs to the ocean with endless waves crashing upon the rocks below, you will know peace and serenity. If you're lucky as you peer down the cliffs into another world teeming with Green Sea Turtles so gracefully sunning themselves on top of the water, perhaps it will dawn upon you how fragile our environment really is.
There are no waterfalls associated with this hike.
The Kayak:
The kayaking portion of this event is considered moderate. Must be able to swim and weigh less than 260 lbs.
After lunch in the bush, Maui Eco-Adventures takes a short ride down the road to Kapalua Bay where the paddle begins.
Kapalua Bay with it's water so blue, so crystal clear the water has been rated the top beach in America 3 out of the last 10 years. Teeming with marine life, your paddle will take you North out of the Kapalua Bay along rugged cliffs, breathtaking views ending at Cliff House. Green sea turtles, a clear blue ocean are just a few of the sights during this casual cruise along Kapalua's famed coastline.
Snorkeling on this adventure depends on the water conditions. During the winter months the seas may be a little too rough to snorkel and for paddling out of Kapalua Bay. Remember that this is a hike, kayak adventure, although Maui Eco-Adventures provides snorkel gear, you may not snorkel.
Please note that the kayaks do not have a place to store a camera. It would be best to use a waterproof or disposable camera for the kayak portion of this Maui activity.

The Rainforest Walk:
The Rainforest Walk is a guided hike into the historical Iao Valley. Rich in history, deep in legend this excursion into Iao Valley will follow ancient footpaths across Iao Stream with a guide who will share the lore and legends of this historic location. This family friendly eco-adventure features native and introduced Hawaiian plants and archaeological sites of pre-contact ancient habitation.
Following a moderate loop trail, this is more than a hike; it's an informative filled adventure that will enhance your appreciation along with your understanding of Hawaii. This Maui eco-adventure is provided by the Maui Nature Center on leased land from C. Brewer and the Wailuku Agribusiness. This culturally rich hiking adventure can only be enjoyed through the Hawaii Nature Center.
You can enjoy this hike daily Monday through Friday at either 11.30am or 1.30pm. Please note that all hikers must five years old or older. Closed-toed shoes are required (tennis shoes) to walk an uneven trail of about 1.5 miles with moderate hiking conditions. Museum admission is included in the Rainforest Walk listed above. You need to provide your own water.
The Interactive Museum and the Gift Shop are open Monday through Friday from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
The Hawaii Nature Center is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Please note that this Maui attraction works the same way as all other events. We call in the reservation to the vendor to confirm your spot for the activity. You are required to be at the Hawaii Nature Center at least 30 prior to the Rainforest Walk. We suggest you arrive earlier if you scheduled the afternoon walk as this will give you some time to enjoy the exhibits. You can adjust your time or date of the event if you like, however adjustment depend on availability.
