If enjoying Haleakala is on your list of things to do and sunrise is a bit early, then you may want to consider this. The day begins with hotel pick up and the time depends on the location of your resort. As a general rule pick up begins with the outlying resorts, the Hotels or Condos furthest away.
The first stop on this adventure is the summit of Haleakala where you will have a chance to explore the "House of the Sun". The morning will be cool and crisp, the vistas incredible and the crater wind swept and barren. Please remember to bring sweat pants and a light jacket for this part of the adventure as the mornings at the summit are cool to say the least.
Coming down the mountain you can enjoy a "no host" lunch at Casanova's. No host means you have to buy your own lunch. After lunch Polynesian Adventure Tours winds through Old Makawao Town down to Pa'ia and the sea. As you journey the road through upcountry ranch lands and into the pineapple fields you will discover the beauty and history of this region of Maui.
Iao Valley and the lush rainforest of the West Maui Mountains is the next stop on your journey through paradise as you pass through Wailuku Town and into the valley. Here in the Valley you can enjoy a nice walk to the needle and take in the sights, the sounds and the natural beauty of the rainforest. Don't forget to bring plenty of film for your camera.
Through the course of the day, your driver may stop off the beaten path as time allows and share with you some of the hidden secrets of Maui. These stops are unexpected and always present a unique look at the history and culture of Maui.
So sit back and relax. Let them do the driving and let Polynesian Adventure Tours show you the beauty of Central Maui. The return time for this event is about 3.30pm and this event is conducted seven days a week.

Haleakala, "The House of the Sun". Some say it is like being reborn. Above the clouds at the roof of the world, sunrise unfolds in a sea of orange. As the sun rises, a breathtaking view of Maui and the Pacific Ocean slowly matures into the light of day. Immerse yourself with incredible vistas of 5 Islands and the deep blue sea against the paled morning sky. This is sunrise at Haleakala Crater.
At 10,023 feet Haleakala is the highest point on Maui and the 3rd highest mountain in the State. Haleakala is also a dormant volcano. The last eruption was 400 years ago along the east rift zone of the mountain. The last lava flow resulted in the rugged south west coast line that includes La Peruse Bay. The vistas are unparalleled as you gaze down to the coast so far away. Crisp and cool, a sight to remember for a lifetime. Polynesian Adventure Tours takes you there in comfort, with their premier mini coach for sights found nowhere on earth but Haleakala.
This adventure offers resort or condo pick up and return. The pick up time is usually at the lobby of your resort or condo from between 2.15am to 3.15am depending on where you are in the pick up order. Tour Tips
Leave the driving to them, hear the history, understand the legends and enjoy the journey. That's what I say. These tours are great for the young and the old, If you are not planning on renting a car, then this is the only way to enjoy all of Maui.
Don't want to miss out? Then this is your ticket to relaxation and not having to worry about the back roads, curvy roads and steep roads or getting lost.
As a general rule the Hana tours pick up between 6.15am and 7.30am depending on where you are staying.
You can swim in the pools with any of the tour groups; just remember to bring a swimsuit, towel and a change of clothes. The weather in the rain forest is subject to sudden change so it would be a good ides to bring a light windbreaker with a hood.
The sunrise tours as a general rule pick up between 2.00am and 3.00am depending on where you are staying. These tours are great because you do not have to drive the road to Haleakala in the middle of the night. They know where they going and already have a parking spot waiting for them at the summit. Besides you can sleep on the way up and you can't do that when you drive. It's the pre sunrise. That's why the pick up is early.
